On Thanksgiving Day the Oakland Raiders will take on the Dallas Cowboys in the fourteenth of sixteen scheduled “legacy games”. The raiders will be wearing their circa 1963 season uniform: White (away) jersey featuring silver numbers outlined in black; silver helmet with original Raiders logo.
In some cases the retro uniform is a welcomed reminder of the past, evoking fond memories of a long and rich history as a team. In other cases though, perhaps not as much. For the Denver Broncos the 1960 uniforms were so widely criticized by their fans that two years later they got rid of the jerseys and celebrated the occasion by holding a public bonfire to burn the striped socks. (See more by visiting: “Jim Rome is Burning: Denver Bronco’s Ugly Throwback Uniforms”). The Tennessee Titans donned the original Houston Oilers uniforms for their legacy game appearances, while Kansas City appeared in their original Dallas Texans uniform - complete with the outline of the state of Texas on the helmet.
At SYMS we place a high value on Brand Names. The consistency and reliability of a brand name is important to us, and to our consumers. Have the legacy uniforms had any impact on your view of the teams or the games this season? We’re curious as to your opinion. Have you enjoyed the experience of the legacy uniforms, or do you wish they had remained in the past where they belonged?

The legacy uniforms are fantastic - it spices up any game. It brings a real sense of nostalgia to any fan from several eras. It’s a good thing for fans to not only understand the history of the game but to see what it looked like way back when.
I hope every team “wears” their past in (at least) a few games per season from now on.
P.S. The Broncos should NEVER wear those brown uniforms again - rather the orange jerseys with the light blue helmet (the ones they wore in the 60’s - pre-Elway).
